What to know about scheduling Maternity Photos In the Triad

I remember the first time I was pregnant, I kept getting frustrated because I wanted my belly to show to go along my happiness of telling everyone I was pregnant. Come to find out first time moms typically "pop" later than second and so on mamas to be!

When I started my maternity photographer journey I remember that little detail and was able to confirm the best time to take maternity photos - 28 weeks to 33 weeks!. Aside from the bump factor, there's a few other ones to consider. I will post them as bullet points because if you have ADHD like me, reading long paragraphs can be a drag!!! ha-ha

  • Between these weeks, your belly is more round and defined
  • COMFORTABILITY! After 32 - maybe 34 weeks for first time moms - posing, moving, walking will be more challenging
  • Swelling and fatigue, swelling was my enemy especially my feet! Some women grow a whole foot size around this time
  • MOST IMPORTANT - although we hope everything goes to plan, some babies are ready to come into the world and your schedule maternity photoshoot won't be something they'll wait to happen before their arrival

Now let's talk about booking, even though your session happens in the third trimester - I recommend booking your sessions DURING YOUR SECOND TRIMESTER. Depending on the season you hit that milestone, photographers will be jammed packed with sessions and your ideal date and time will have to be much more flexible than if you scheduled ahead of time.

For your comfort, I offer studio maternity photoshoot in Greensboro, NC or, if you feel up to it and to capture the beauty of our area we can travel to locations. I can recommend a few spots I love within an hour or we can visit your favorite spot!
